Overview

Working at Technicolor is about helping to create iconic visual experiences that are remembered by generations. It’s about being creative, contributing to work that will be seen by millions and working with the the very best content creators in the theatrical and broadcast industry.

Based in the heart of Soho, Technicolor’s Lexington Street studio is a state-of-the-art post production facility which prides itself on its exceptional creative talent.

With over 100 years of heritage and experience, we have worked on everything from big-budget blockbusters to cutting edge broadcast dramas and much more.

Responsibilities

BACKGROUND

  • The UK Post Business offers a range of services through two specialist teams focused on the differing needs of the Feature and Broadcast markets. This role is currently focused on the both markets but predominately within Features.
  • The total Production Budgets on Studio Feature projects range between £80M and £300M, therefore we are dealing with the elite end of the Feature Production Market. This assumes a highly political environment and sometimes unpredictable behaviours from those involved.
  • More and more we are approaching projects using a ‘rolling conform’ approach, allowing a 'creative collaboration' such that changes continue to be made closer to the release date. Accepting this ‘chaos’ is important.

EXPECTATIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Team Play: Contribute to an effective Feature Project Management Team that is fully integrated and highly collaborative with Artists, Operations and Technology Services and who understand and provide Studio Level Post services
  • Team Management: Whilst currently not a formal line management responsibility, proactively driving and motivating a team of artists in day to day operations is a significant element to the role.
  • Project Management: To Project Manage for the Supervising Colourist, other Senior Colourists working in Theatrical Dailies including Guest and Freelance Colourists.
  • Producer: Scheduling, creating WO’s and effectively managing resources, ensuring projects are delivered to deadline and all billing activities are accurate and kept up to date.
  • Business Systems (Pulse): Work with the technical workflow leads to develop a working knowledge of the VFX Pulls system (Pulse) and help feed into the build and design of the automated feature pipeline
  • Relationship Selling: Able to build and maintain sustaining relationships with clients at all levels and actively assist in the sales process, winning repeat business and taking part in dispute resolution.
  • Quoting and Workflow: Contribute to the Quoting process, co-ordinate workflow solutions and generate effective but flexible schedules
  • Project Profitability: Accountability for Project Profitability and the systems that enable measurement including timely billing activities and resource utilisation
  • Client Experience: Set expectations for and actively drive exemplary Client Experience throughout the building and the business.
  • Group Collaboration: To use knowledge, systems and resources from the Technicolor Group to provide solutions to clients of both Technicolor Global Post and Technicolor UK
  • Business and Knowledge Management: Articulate, document and maintain processes and procedures aligned to workflow and business process along with the occasional business / project plans aligned to Business strategies. As required share with the UK team and the Technicolor Group.

Hours of Work: Given involvement with US Studios, flexibility in work across the evening is considered important, especially as projects are being delivered. Acceptance of the often-unpredictable nature of projects and spikes in overall workload is critical to the role

Qualifications

  • Good experience working in a Post Production environment, detailed knowledge of Digital Dailies/DIT.
  • A track record as a Post Producer on Studio Level Features
  • Deep knowledge / experience of Feature Film Post Production processes and Dailies Deliverables such that a ‘hands on’ approach is possible
  • Proven ability to build and maintain sustaining relationships with clients at all levels. This includes excellent client handling skills, established relationships along with experience in generating new business from existing and new clients.
  • In general, strong communication skills, excellent organizational skills, ability to work on own initiative and proactively handle day-to-day Client Services issues, escalating and resolving these where appropriate
